Bajaj Electricals Limited is a globally renowned and trusted Indian consumer electrical equipment manufacturing company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Established on July 14, 1938, originally as Radio Lamp Works Limited by Kamalnayan Bajaj, the company was renamed Bajaj Electricals Limited in 1960. It operates as a key public subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Bajaj Group. Over its history of more than 85 years, the brand has built a foundation based on trust, transparency, and innovation, evolving from a traditional regional player into a dynamic industry force. The core operations of Bajaj Electricals are divided into two primary business segments: Consumer Products and Lighting Solutions. The Consumer Products vertical spans a diversified portfolio of home and kitchen appliances, cookware, and domestic fans, including ceiling, table, pedestal, wall, and industrial fans. Its major domestic appliance offerings comprise water heaters, room heaters, air coolers, irons, mixers, induction cookers, and microwave ovens. The company adopts a distinct multi-brand strategy to target various market segments, utilizing its flagship brand BAJAJ alongside premium offerings under the Morphy Richards and Nex by Bajaj brands. It formerly held the cookware brand Nirlep, which it acquired to expand its premium kitchen presence. In the Lighting Solutions segment, Bajaj Electricals is a leading player in both Consumer Lighting (B2C) and Professional Lighting (B2B). The portfolio features energy-efficient LED lamps, panels, battens, innovative lighting controls, and specialized fixtures designed for commercial spaces, industrial facilities, and outdoor areas. Known for its execution of complex, turnkey illumination projects, the division has managed high-profile public lighting installations, such as those at the Bandra Worli Sea Link and various sports stadiums. Historically, the company also operated a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) segment handling power transmission towers and power distribution projects; however, this infrastructure business was demerged in 2022 to form an independent publicly listed entity, Bajel Projects Limited, enabling Bajaj Electricals to focus sharply on its consumer-facing core. Financially, Bajaj Electricals is publicly traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). For the fiscal year 2024-2025, the company reported a turnover of INR 4,641 crores, supported by an expansive domestic footprint including 18 branch offices, over 660 distributors, nearly 2 lakh retail outlets, and more than 620 consumer care centers reaching approximately 19,000 pin codes across India. The company also maintains an active international presence, exporting its consumer products to over 40 countries across the SAARC region, the Middle East, and Africa. Led by Executive Chairman Shekhar Bajaj, the company integrates strong corporate governance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks, driving sustainability initiatives primarily through the Bajaj Electricals Foundation.
