Blue Star Limited is India's leading heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration (HVAC&R) company, with a history spanning over eight decades. Founded in 1943 by Mohan T. Advani as a modest three-member reconditioning enterprise, the company has grown into a multinational home appliances and engineering conglomerate. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Blue Star is publicly traded on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company's core operations are strategically structured into three primary business segments: Electro-Mechanical Projects and Commercial Air Conditioning Systems; Unitary Products; and Professional Electronics and Industrial Systems. The Electro-Mechanical Projects segment provides turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, specializing in central air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, and firefighting solutions for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors—including major metro rail and railway electrification projects. The Unitary Products segment focuses on manufacturing and distributing energy-efficient cooling solutions. Its product portfolio features residential and commercial room air conditioners, deep freezers, water coolers, modular cold rooms, air purifiers, and water purifiers. Blue Star's third vertical, managed through its wholly owned subsidiary Blue Star Engineering & Electronics Ltd, provides advanced technology solutions by trading and servicing medical diagnostic equipment, data security systems, material testing machines, and industrial products. Blue Star operates a robust manufacturing ecosystem comprising seven modern production plants located across India, including facilities in Dadra, Himachal Pradesh, Wada, Ahmedabad, and a state-of-the-art facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Backed by dedicated R&D centers, such as the Ashok M. Advani Innovation Centre, the company prioritizes sustainable, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient product development. With an annual revenue exceeding INR 7,900 crore, Blue Star maintains a vast domestic presence through a network of over 30 offices, 3,500 employees, 4,000 channel partners, and 10,000 retail outlets, alongside thousands of service associates reaching over 4,000 talukas. As the nation's largest after-sales HVAC&R service provider, it maintains around 2 million tonnage of equipment. Beyond India, Blue Star has expanded its global footprint to over 18 countries across the Middle East, Africa, SAARC, and ASEAN regions. This international business is managed via its subsidiary, Blue Star International FZCO, based in Dubai, UAE, and supported by joint ventures in Oman, Qatar, and Malaysia, alongside expanding initiatives into North America and Europe. Led by Chairman and Managing Director Vir S. Advani and Managing Director B. Thiagarajan, Blue Star continues to strengthen its global relevance through digitalization, comprehensive supply chain management, and an integrated end-to-end business model.
