Founded in March 2015 by Sripad Vaidya and Dinesh Kumar Kotha, the company is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with corporate operations managed alongside its parent group. ConfirmTkt was established to solve a primary pain point for Indian railway passengers: the uncertainty of waitlisted train tickets. By leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science, the platform predicts the chances of train ticket confirmation based on historical trends. It also features an "Alternates" feature that suggests optimal train-bus combinations or alternative travel routes, effectively utilizing unused inventory to help users reach their destinations. Over the years, ConfirmTkt transitioned from a pure train ticket prediction tool into a comprehensive multimodal search and booking engine. The platform allows users to seamlessly discover and book train tickets, check PNR status, view live train schedules, and explore alternate travel options across buses, flights, and intercity cabs. It functions as an official IRCTC B2C ticketing partner. Additionally, the company monetizes its prediction engine through APIs utilized by other leading travel platforms like MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, and Paytm, and offers secondary services such as target advertising and on-train food delivery partnerships. In February 2021, ConfirmTkt achieved a major corporate milestone when it was acquired by Le Travenues Technology Limited (ixigo), a leading online travel aggregator. Following this acquisition, the company cross-integrated its services across the ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and AbhiBus brands to maximize cross-selling capabilities and enhance user adoption. This integration established the combined group as one of the largest and most used train OTA networks in India. The brand further expanded its presence through aggressive marketing, including appointing actor Rana Daggubati as its brand ambassador. Financially, ConfirmTkt has demonstrated robust scale and profitability. According to its fiscal year 2022-23 annual report, the company reported a total income of INR 1,780.84 million (INR 178 crore), representing a 38.5% growth from INR 1,285.77 million in the previous fiscal year. Its net profit after tax surged by 55.34% to INR 221.36 million in FY23, up from INR 142.50 million in FY22. Driven by a high repeat transaction rate of 87.4% and millions of mobile application downloads, ConfirmTkt maintains a dominant position in India's regional travel market, tailoring its technology-driven, cost-efficient solutions to the "next billion users" segment.
