Daikin Airconditioning India Private Limited (DAIPL) is a prominent manufacturer of commercial and residential air conditioning systems and a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan, a global leader in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technologies. Initially entering the Indian market in April 2000 through an 80:20 joint venture with the Usha Shriram Group under the name Daikin Shriram Airconditioning, the company transitioned into a 100% subsidiary of its Japanese parent organization in 2004. The company is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, with its registered office situated in Okhla, New Delhi. Operationally, Daikin India is well-regarded for introducing advanced and environmentally conscious HVAC technologies to the domestic market. In 2002, it pioneered Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) systems in India and later commenced the production of High Wall Split air conditioners utilizing HFC32, an eco-friendly refrigerant. Its product portfolio encompasses a comprehensive range of cooling and air quality solutions, including split, cassette, floor-standing, ducted, VRV systems, chillers, rooftops, and air purifiers. To support its growth and bolster manufacturing competitiveness, Daikin India has established a robust production and R&D infrastructure. The company opened its first manufacturing base in Neemrana, Rajasthan, starting production in 2009, followed by a second production facility at the same location in 2017. A dedicated Research and Development centre was also inaugurated in Neemrana in 2016 to engineer products tailored to diverse Indian weather conditions. Expanding its footprints further, the company held a groundbreaking ceremony for its third factory in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, in 2022 and engaged in a strategic joint venture with Rechi Precision in late 2024. Additionally, it expanded its business portfolio by acquiring Citizen Industries' Air Handling Unit (AHU) business in 2021. As an unlisted private entity with an authorized share capital of INR 3,000 crore, Daikin India reported an operating revenue exceeding INR 500 crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2025, demonstrating substantial growth in both EBITDA and book net worth over previous fiscal periods. The company employs thousands of professionals across India. Its extensive sales, service, and supply chain network includes dozens of branch and sales offices, multiple mother and supporting warehouses, more than 300 Daikin Solution Plazas (DSP), and hundreds of Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) alongside thousands of channel partners. Led by key executives, including Managing Director Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Daikin India continues to align its corporate strategy with sustainability, actively managing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs for e-waste recycling and advancing its vision to remain one of India's most preferred air conditioning brands.
