New Delhi
Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a prominent Indian public sector undertaking and a leading global engineering consultancy and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company. Established in 1965 by the Government of India under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), EIL operates as a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) and holds the prestigious 'Navratna' status, which awards it enhanced financial and operational autonomy to scale its domestic and global footprint. The Government of India maintains majority ownership in the company, holding a 51.32% stake. Headquartered at Bhikaji Cama Place in New Delhi, EIL functions with an extensive network of regional engineering offices in cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Vadodara, alongside foreign offices in strategic locations including Abu Dhabi, London, Milan, and Shanghai. The core operations of EIL are divided into two main business segments: Consultancy & Engineering Projects and Turnkey Projects. Historically, the company has served as a critical technology partner and service provider for the hydrocarbon sector, spanning across the entire oil and gas value chain, petroleum refining, and petrochemical industries. Its immense engineering footprint is reflected by the fact that 20 out of 23 petroleum refineries and 11 out of 12 mega petrochemical complexes in India utilize EIL footprints. Beyond its primary hydrocarbon focus, EIL has successfully executed a dual-segment business model to diversify into synergic sectors, including non-ferrous metallurgy, fertilizers, infrastructure, power, and water and wastewater management. Adapting to global market shifts, EIL has committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035. Through its "EIL Engage" strategy, the organization is aggressively expanding its capabilities into sustainable energy and alternative resource technologies, focusing heavily on biofuels, green hydrogen, green ammonia, 2G ethanol, carbon capture, and offshore wind power. Furthermore, the company handles major urban development and infrastructure projects, such as international airports (including Noida and Leh), state-of-the-art data centers for financial institutions like the State Bank of India and Reserve Bank of India, and the restoration of prominent heritage sites. Financially robust and virtually debt-free, EIL is publicly listed on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, the company reported a consolidated operating revenue of INR 3,092 crore and maintained a healthy order book of INR 13,131 crore as of late 2025. Led by Chairperson and Managing Director Vartika Shukla, EIL leverages a highly skilled workforce of approximately 2,700 experienced professionals and engineers. Backed by its sophisticated R&D center in Gurugram, which manages dozens of live patents, EIL continues to deliver comprehensive project management services from concept to commissioning globally.
