GalaxEye (registered as GalaxEye Space Solutions Private Limited) is an innovative Indian space technology startup specializing in advanced Earth observation. Founded in May 2021 by a team of engineering alumni from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)—including Suyash Singh (CEO), Denil Chawda (CTO), Pranit Mehta, Kishan Thakkar, and Rakshit Bhatt—the company emerged from the core team that achieved recognition as finalists in the 2019 SpaceX Hyperloop competition. Incubated at IIT Madras, GalaxEye is currently headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, with registered corporate offices in both Chennai and Bengaluru's KIADB Defence Aerospace Space Park. The primary technological breakthrough of GalaxEye is its proprietary sensor fusion technology, engineered to address a long-standing limitation in satellite data: the choice between clear, intuitive optical images (which are obstructed by clouds, weather, and night) and resilient Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data (which operates in all conditions but is complex to interpret). To resolve this, GalaxEye developed the SyncFusion Imaging System, which co-locates a high-resolution SAR sensor and a multispectral optical imager onto a single platform. This configuration allows the satellite to capture both data streams simultaneously in a single pass, providing inherently aligned, weatherproof, and analysis-ready datasets. The flagship initiative of the company is the Drishti Mission, an Earth observation constellation designed to deploy more than 15 microsatellites, each weighing approximately 150 to 190 kilograms, into a Sun-synchronous low Earth orbit (SSO). Following initial technology validation via the GLX-SQ payload deployment on ISRO's POEM-4 platform in December 2024, the first full-scale Drishti satellite successfully launched in mid-2026 via a SpaceX Transporter mission. Operating on a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) business model, GalaxEye commercializes this high-frequency, high-resolution imagery to empower public and private sector clients globally. The actionable geospatial insights derived from their OptoSAR imagery serve critical needs in defense, agriculture, disaster management, environmental and climate monitoring, insurance, maritime operations, and infrastructure analytics. As a rapidly scaling private venture, GalaxEye has built an internal team of over 130 professionals. The company has attracted significant market interest, securing approximately $27.8 million in total funding. Key funding milestones include a $3.5 million seed round in late 2022 led by Speciale Invest, followed by a strategic $10 million Series A round in late 2024 featuring major backing from the MountTech Growth Fund (MGF) Kavachh and an approximate $2 million equity investment from Indian tech multinational Infosys. Expanding its capital infrastructure, the firm also raised INR 50 million in venture debt from SIDBI in early 2026. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, GalaxEye generated an initial operational revenue of INR 2.02 crore, positioning the company as a leading private innovator shaping the next generation of global space-based intelligence.
