HFCL Limited, originally incorporated as Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited in May 1987, is a premier global technology enterprise and a leading telecom infrastructure enabler headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. Promoted by Mahendra Nahata and his partners, the company has evolved from a domestic equipment manufacturer into a vertically integrated powerhouse that specializes in high-end telecommunications equipment, optical fiber, optical fiber cables (OFC), and advanced defense electronics. The company officially rebranded to HFCL Limited in October 2019 to better reflect its expansive technological competencies and global aspirations. Today, it is publicly listed on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) under the ticker symbol HFCL. The core business architecture of HFCL is robustly structured across telecom products, turnkey network solutions, and strategic defense engineering. As India’s top supplier of optical fiber cables, HFCL maintains an extensive product portfolio that includes underground, aerial, microduct, micromodule, and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) cables, exporting to over 25 countries worldwide. In the networking domain, the company designs and engineers next-generation solutions such as Wi-Fi 5/6/7 access points, Unlicensed Band Radios (UBR), IP/MPLS routers, managed ethernet switches, and an expanding 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) customer premises equipment (CPE) portfolio. Beyond commercial telecommunications, HFCL has strategically diversified into defense electronics, manufacturing mission-critical hardware like electronic fuzes, high-capacity radio relays, ground surveillance radars, software-defined radios, and thermal electro-optics for national security. Operationally, HFCL relies on a heavily backward-integrated ecosystem that features seven state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities located across India—including major units in Hyderabad, Goa, Solan, and Chennai—complemented by three dedicated research and development centers. This manufacturing infrastructure allows the company to maintain an annual capacity of 14 million fiber kilometers (fkm) for optical fiber and 25.08 million fkm for optical fiber cables. Through an intense focus on R&D and collaborations with global technology leaders like Qualcomm, Microsoft, and MediaTek, HFCL continues to pioneer innovative, scalable connectivity frameworks that support massive public and private infrastructure initiatives like Digital India, the BharatNet rural broadband project, and nationwide 5G rollouts. Financially, HFCL has demonstrated significant market growth and strategic agility. For the fiscal year 2024-25, the company reported a consolidated revenue from operations of INR 4,065 crore, an EBITDA of INR 507 crore, and a Profit After Tax (PAT) of INR 173 crore. By mid-2026, its market capitalization scaled to approximately INR 32,855 crore. A vital milestone in its commercial evolution has been the successful shift of its revenue mix away from government tender dependency toward private enterprise customers, which accounted for 80% of total revenues by late 2025. Backed by a robust order book exceeding INR 11,125 crore, HFCL is uniquely positioned under the guidance of Managing Director Mahendra Nahata to drive the next wave of global digital transformation.
