Myntra Designs Private Limited is a premier Indian fashion e-commerce company and stands as one of the country's largest online retailers for fashion, lifestyle, beauty, personal care, and home products. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the company operates as a key standalone subsidiary of Flipkart. Established originally in February 2007 by Mukesh Bansal, Ashutosh Lawania, and Vineet Saxena, Myntra initially operated on a business-to-business (B2B) model focused on the on-demand personalization of gift items, such as T-shirts, mugs, and mouse pads. Recognizing broader market potentials, the company underwent a strategic pivot in 2011, moving away from personalization to transition into a comprehensive lifestyle and apparel marketplace. The core operations of Myntra revolve around providing an expansive, in-season product catalogue that caters to men, women, and kids. The platform offers merchandise from over 500 prominent Indian and international brands, including Adidas, Nike, Puma, and United Colors of Benetton, alongside popular in-house private labels developed under its House of Brands vertical, such as Roadster, Dressberry, and Kook N Keech. To maintain its market leadership, Myntra has consistently integrated advanced technology and customer-centric features into its platform. These innovations include the industry-first Try and Buy feature, automated alteration services, AI-powered tools like FashionGPT, and specialized delivery services such as M-Express and M-Now for ultra-fast logistics. The brand has also expanded its international presence by launching Myntra Global in Singapore. In May 2014, Myntra was acquired by Flipkart in a major consolidation valued at approximately INR 2,000 crore, a deal heavily influenced by mutual investors Tiger Global Management and Accel Partners. Despite the acquisition, Myntra has continued to operate independently, executing its own corporate roadmaps and tech upgrades. Over the years, the company has further strengthened its ecosystem by acquiring entities like Jabong, Native5, Cubeit, and InLogg. Financially, Myntra reports annual revenues exceeding INR 1,000 crore and maintains a robust workforce of over 1,000 employees. By mid-2026, the platform achieved a record milestone, adding millions of weekly active users to reach an all-time high of 60 million active users. The organization is currently steered by a senior leadership team including Sharon Pais as the Head of Myntra, Pramod Adiddam as Chief Technology Officer, and Kannan Ganesan as Chief Financial Officer. Through its focus on tech-led retail and democratizing trendsetters, Myntra remains a dominant force in India’s digital retail ecosystem.
