Rossell India Limited is a public limited company headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, primarily engaged in the cultivation, processing, manufacture, and sale of bulk tea. Incorporated on June 10, 1994, under the original name Rossell Tea Limited, the company began its journey under the leadership of Mr. H.M. Gupta with a distinct focus on producing premium black teas. Over the decades, it expanded and diversified into distinct industrial sectors, leading to a corporate renaming on April 19, 2011, as Rossell India Limited to better represent its multifaceted business interests. For many years, the company operated through two primary business segments: the Rossell Tea division and the Rossell Techsys division. The Rossell Techsys division, established in 2011, operated out of Bangalore as an advanced aerospace and defense engineering vertical, serving prominent global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell by manufacturing electrical wiring interconnect systems and electronic assemblies. However, as part of a strategic corporate restructuring aimed at unlocking independent shareholder value, this aerospace and defense division was officially demerged into a standalone listed entity called Rossell Techsys Limited, effective August 30, 2024. Following this segregation, Rossell India Limited returned to its core roots, transitioning back into a single-segment entity entirely dedicated to the tea industry. Today, Rossell India operates as a major producer of high-quality Orthodox and CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) black teas, utilizing estate-level cultivation and marketing its products through bulk auction systems and private commercial contracts. The company's agricultural footprint is concentrated in the premier tea-growing belt of Assam, where it owns and operates multiple major tea estates, including Dikom, Nokhroy, Nagrijuli, Romai, Namsang, Kharikatia, Sealkoteee, Kharjan, and Dhoedaam. The acquisition of the Dhoedaam Tea Estate in January 2025 notably positioned it as the largest estate under their management, independently producing approximately 1.8 million kilograms of tea annually. Collectively, the tea division outputs roughly 7.50 million kilograms of premium tea each year. Financially, the company is publicly traded on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) under the tickers ROSSELLIND and 533168, respectively. BMG Enterprises Limited acts as the parent organization, maintaining a majority equity stake of approximately 65.61%. The leadership structure features Mr. H.M. Gupta serving as the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, alongside key executives including Whole-Time Director Samara Gupta, and Chief Executive Officer of the Tea Division Suneel Singh Sikand. Employing thousands of permanent and seasonal workers across its plantations, Rossell India focuses its operations on modern agricultural standards and sustainability while maintaining its legacy as an established brand in both domestic and international tea markets, including exports to the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Germany, and the United States.
