SRF Limited is a prominent, innovation-led Indian multi-business chemicals and materials conglomerate with a significant global presence. Established on January 9, 1970, as Shri Ram Fibres Limited by DCM Limited, the company began its journey as a single-unit nylon tyre cord manufacturer. It set up its first production plant in Manali, near Chennai, which commenced operations in 1974. Over the decades, the company diversified far beyond technical textiles, leading to a strategic rebranding as SRF Limited in 1990 to reflect its multi-faceted industrial portfolio. Headquartered in Gurugram, India, SRF operates across three primary business segments: Chemicals, Packaging Films (rebranded as Performance Films & Foil Business), and Technical Textiles. The company is a subsidiary of KAMA Holdings Limited, which maintains a majority stake of approximately 50.21%. Globally, SRF operates 16 manufacturing facilities situated across four countries: India, Thailand, South Africa, and Hungary, and its commercial interests span across more than 90 countries worldwide. The Chemicals Business is the largest revenue-generating vertical for the company. It encompasses Specialty Chemicals and Fluorochemicals. SRF is an established market leader in fluorine chemistry, producing advanced intermediates for the agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. It is widely recognized as the global number one producer of Difluoro and Trifluoro Alkyl Intermediates. In the Fluorochemicals segment, SRF manufactures refrigerants under the FLORON brand, industrial chemicals, and pharmaceutical propellants under the Dymel brand. It stands as the largest seller of refrigerants in India and was the first Indian company to receive ASHRAE certification for its low global warming potential refrigerant blend. The company has also expanded into the fluoropolymers market with its Flonio PTFE resins. The Performance Films & Foil Business manufactures high-performance bi-axially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) and bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films under the PETLAR and OPLAR brands. These products supply the food and non-food packaging, labeling, and industrial sectors. Additionally, the company operates recently commissioned aluminum foil facilities. The Technical Textiles Business retains SRF's foundational legacy and is the largest manufacturer of technical textiles in India. It commands dominant global and domestic positions in Nylon 6 Tyre Cord and Belting Fabrics, serving critical heavy industries and the automotive sector. Financially, SRF Limited is publicly listed on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, the company reported a consolidated revenue from operations of INR 15,894 crore and a profit after tax (PAT) of INR 1,835 crore. Managed by a professional leadership team including Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram, SRF continues a heavy capital expenditure program focused on R&D, process innovation, and sustainable low-carbon intermediate manufacturing.
