Sri Chaitanya Educational Group, also known as Sri Chaitanya Group of Institutions (SCGI), is one of Asia's largest and most prominent educational conglomerates. Founded in 1986 by the late Dr. Boppana Satyanarayana Rao and his wife, Dr. Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Boppana, the institution began its journey as a girls' junior college in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The founders, who had practiced medicine in the United Kingdom and Iran for 16 years, returned to India with a vision to address the lack of professional educational access and awareness among rural students, particularly young women. Over nearly four decades, Sri Chaitanya has transformed from a localized initiative into a massive national network focused heavily on competitive test preparation. The group operates a vast institutional ecosystem that includes K-10 Techno Schools, state board-affiliated junior colleges, CBSE-affiliated schools, hostels, and specialized test-preparation academies. Globally and nationally recognized for its rigorous pedagogy, Sri Chaitanya spans over 950 branches across 22 states and more than 248 cities in India. Its infrastructure accommodates approximately 950,000 students and is managed by a workforce exceeding 62,000 teaching and non-teaching staff members. The institution maintains a heavy operational presence in southern and eastern India, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while executing aggressive growth strategies to expand its footprint in northern states such as Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Sri Chaitanya's educational model sets itself apart by integrating standard school curricula with structured preparatory content for highly competitive national entrance exams, including IIT-JEE, NEET, Olympiads, and UPSC-CS. This integrated framework introduces advanced foundational concepts in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology as early as Class VI. The core objective is to distribute dense exam syllabi over multiple years, giving students a psychological and academic head start. This strategic methodology has produced high-ranking academic outcomes, with the institution frequently claiming top ranks in JEE Advanced and NEET. Financially, the conglomerate generated an estimated revenue of Rs 5,500 crore in FY23, supported by its extensive physical infrastructure and a $70 million institutional backing from private equity firm New Silk Route. In response to shifting educational landscapes, Sri Chaitanya launched its digital edtech arm, Infinity Learn, in 2021 with an initial $50 million investment. Led by marketing campaigns featuring high-profile brand ambassadors like cricketer Rohit Sharma and actor Allu Arjun, Infinity Learn complements the brick-and-mortar campuses by offering hybrid learning modules, personalized progress mapping, and AI-powered educational tools for students across India and parts of the Middle East and Singapore. Currently, the academic and administrative leadership is spearheaded by Co-Founders Seema Boppana, Sushma Boppana (CEO & Director), and other members of the executive board, who continue to advance the founders' original mission of delivering structured, competitive, and affordable education.
