Today, SUSE operates out of its primary corporate locations in Germany while maintaining its official headquarters in Luxembourg. The company specializes in engineering, developing, and selling enterprise-grade open-source solutions tailored for mission-critical workloads. SUSE’s comprehensive product portfolio is primarily structured into two major categories: the SUSE Linux Enterprise product family, which includes its flagship operating system SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), and the SUSE Rancher product family, which focuses on container management, security, and Kubernetes orchestration. In 2018, the Swedish investment firm EQT acquired SUSE for $2.5 billion, operating it as an independent enterprise. Following an initial public offering on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in May 2021, EQT executed a take-private transaction in November 2023, valuing the company at approximately €2.7 billion.
