Thyrocare Technologies Limited is a premier Indian multinational chain of diagnostic and preventive care laboratories. Established in 1996 by Dr. A. Velumani, a former scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, the company began its operations with a singular focus on thyroid testing in Byculla, Mumbai. Over the decades, it has evolved into a prominent healthcare services provider, recognized as India's first fully automated clinical diagnostic laboratory. Headquartered in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, Thyrocare operates through a public limited company framework, listed on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) under the ticker THYROCARE. In June 2021, API Holdings, the parent company of the online healthcare aggregator PharmEasy, acquired a 66.1% controlling stake in Thyrocare through its subsidiary Docon Technologies Private Limited, marking a historic milestone where a listed entity was acquired by a startup. Currently, the company operates under the leadership of Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman Rahul Franklin Guha, driving advanced healthcare solutions. The core operations of Thyrocare are heavily oriented toward a business-to-business (B2B) model, partnering with various healthcare players, standalone laboratories, doctors, and corporate organizations to integrate advanced diagnostics into their service portfolios. The company's unique operational strategy is anchored by its centralized processing laboratory (CPL) in Navi Mumbai for esoteric testing, which is supported by a large network of regional processing laboratories (RPLs) across major metro cities in India and other parts of Asia. Thyrocare boasts a robust pan-India presence, expanding its network to over 2,000 cities and towns, covering thousands of pincodes. Its central facility features a massive automated setup with state-of-the-art track systems, including Siemens Healthcare’s Aptio Automation track. To optimize sample turnaround times, Thyrocare utilizes dedicated air-cargo logistics and sophisticated information technology systems, ensuring that samples collected nationwide reach the central facility the same night for seamless, 24/7 automated processing, often delivering results within 4 to 8 hours. The company provides an extensive menu of over 700 diagnostic tests and profiles, encompassing clinical chemistry, pathological services, and preventive healthcare packages under its popular "Aarogyam" and "JAANCH" brands. Additionally, its subsidiary, Nuclear Healthcare Limited, offers advanced cancer diagnosis using PET-CT imaging technologies, while it also extends into water testing services under the "Whaters" brand. Committed to uncompromised accuracy, Thyrocare was one of the first Indian laboratories to secure prestigious quality certifications, including ISO 9001, College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation, and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) approval for its key networks. Financially, Thyrocare has maintained a strong growth trajectory, supported by an almost debt-free balance sheet. For the third quarter of the fiscal year 2026, the company reported an operational revenue of INR 195.53 crore and a profit after tax of INR 27.91 crore, solidifying its position as an industry leader delivering affordable diagnostics across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the Middle East.
