The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship globally through its five foundational pillars: mentoring, networking, education, funding, and incubation. Founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region, TiE has grown into the world's largest entrepreneurial network. The organization’s mission is centered on the "virtuous cycle" of wealth creation and giving back to the community, aiming to support and nurture the next generation of business leaders across all industries and stages of the entrepreneurial lifecycle. Today, TiE maintains a vast global footprint, comprising over 13,000 members and 3,000+ Charter Members across 61 chapters in 14 countries. Its membership structure includes Associate Members (aspiring entrepreneurs), Affiliate Members (those scaling businesses with a minimum of $2 million in annual recurring revenue), and Charter Members (successful professionals and mentors). The organization's impact is significant, with reports indicating it has helped create over two million jobs and influenced wealth creation estimated at over $1 trillion. In India, TiE operates numerous vibrant chapters, including major hubs in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The organization provides a critical platform for the Indian startup ecosystem, facilitating interactions between seasoned industry leaders and emerging founders. Key programs include TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE), which introduces high school students to entrepreneurship through experiential education, and TiE Women, which focuses on empowering female entrepreneurs regardless of their business size or background. Additionally, TiE Angels serves as a global investment platform where Charter Members can provide essential seed and early-stage funding to promising startups. The organization also hosts TiEcon, one of the world's largest professional conferences for entrepreneurs, which serves as a major networking and educational event. Through strategic partnerships, such as its memorandum of understanding with the Indian government's Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and collaboration with BIRAC to strengthen the biotech ecosystem, TiE continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between global investors and local innovation. Led by global leadership, including current board chair Murali Bukkapatnam and vice chair Anita Manwani, TiE remains committed to its core values of transparency, inclusivity, and the promotion of entrepreneurship without political or religious agendas. By providing a collaborative environment for mentors, investors, and aspiring founders, TiE continues to drive economic growth and innovation across India and the world.
