Incorporated on June 6, 2005, as Global Broadcast News Private Limited, the company has grown into one of India’s most diversified broadcasting entities. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, it operates an extensive portfolio of news, entertainment, and infotainment channels. The company is best known for operating the largest news network in India. This network includes premier business news channels such as CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, and CNBC Bajar, as well as general news outlets like CNN-News18 in English and News18 India in Hindi. TV18 also maintains a significant regional presence through 14 regional news channels under the News18 brand, covering various states and languages including Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, and Bengali. Beyond news, TV18 has a major footprint in the entertainment sector through its strategic joint venture, Viacom18, with Paramount Global (formerly Viacom Inc.). This partnership manages popular channels such as Colors, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central. Additionally, the company operates a factual entertainment vertical through AETN18, a joint venture with A+E Networks, which broadcasts the History TV18 channel. A significant corporate development occurred in late 2024 when TV18 Broadcast Limited underwent a merger with its parent company, Network18 Media & Investments Limited. This strategic consolidation was aimed at streamlining the media business of the Reliance Group, creating a more integrated and efficient media powerhouse. Following this merger, the assets and operations of TV18 were transferred to the Network18 Group.
