Stealthrocketrystartup
We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to establish and lead the company-wide quality-control process across production, operations, engineering, testing, and support functions.
You will define how quality is measured, verified, documented, and improved across the company. Working closely with subject-matter experts in highly technical departments—including propulsion—you will build practical quality-control processes that support rapid development while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, traceability, and performance.
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who can create structure in a fast-moving technical environment, create scalable, low friction and effective processes - working effectively with both production teams and specialist engineers.
About us
We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.
We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, generating significant revenue and applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.
We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.
To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you.
At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project. If you’re ready to rise to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
•
Establish and implement company-wide quality-control processes covering production, operations, engineering, testing, and technical support activities.
•
Define inspection plans, acceptance criteria, test requirements, quality records, traceability expectations, and release processes.
•
Work with subject-matter experts to develop practical quality controls for complex technical systems, materials, hardware, and processes.
•
Lead the management of non-conformances, deviations, defects, corrective actions, and recurring quality issues.
•
Develop quality metrics and reporting to identify trends, process variation, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
•
Train and support teams in quality-control procedures while continuously improving the company’s quality culture and working practices.
What we are looking for
•
Significant experience in quality control, quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or a similar role within a complex technical organisation.
•
Proven experience establishing or improving quality-control processes across production, operations, engineering, or testing functions.
•
Strong understanding of inspection, testing, measurement, process control, traceability, documentation, and non-conformance management.
•
The ability to work confidently with technical specialists and translate complex requirements into clear, usable quality processes.
•
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a practical approach to improving quality without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
•
A degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality management, science, or a related discipline.
Desirable experience
•
Quality control within aerospace, defence, space, automotive, energy, medical, or another high-reliability industry.
•
Experience working with complex hardware, specialist materials, hazardous processes, safety-critical systems, or regulated production environments.
•
Familiarity with quality-management systems, internal audits, configuration control, change management, and process qualification.
•
Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, statistical process control, capability studies, or measurement-system analysis.
•
Experience with supplier quality, incoming inspection, calibration, material certification, or production release.
•
Experience building quality processes in an early-stage, rapidly scaling, or vertically integrated organisation.
Benefits and important information:
•
We offer top-decile compensation packages, bonuses and meaningful equity, to attract exceptional aerospace talent.
•
Every employee is awarded stock options in the company, you will directly benefit from your own hard work and success.
•
Comprehensive relocation support including flights, shipping and visas.
•
Lunch, dinner and drinks provided everyday
•
Free access to shared company housing
Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week.
We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, has equal access to opportunity, and can thrive. We welcome different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences—and believe our differences make us stronger.
